The Government of Ontario in recent weeks left Northern Ontario residents in shock and disbelief as it has heartlessly terminated important recreational services, killed jobs, and eliminated critical rail transportation to northern municipalities.
Ontario's North has been forced to stomach one insulting blow after another as the McGuinty government ignores the needs of Ontario's northerners and disregards the heavy consequences the people of his own province will face as a result of his abandonment. Northern municipalities are sick and tired of being a scapegoat to the Ontario government's unjust policies. We are demanding accountability and fairness and preservation of our Provincial parks and the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission.
